How can I know God?  How can I be intimate with the King of the Universe?  -- God's Word says we must have a reverence, or a special type of fear of Him as being Holy in order to know Him.  What is a friendship with God like? 

Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and the beginning of a relationship with the Lord. -- The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. Ps 19:9

And He said to man, 'The fear of the Lord - that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.' " Job 28:28

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. Ps 111:10

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. Prov 14:27

through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil. Prov 16:6

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD.  Prov 23:17

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Prov 1:7
