Cast Your Cares

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

But you, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; … But as for me, I trust in you." Psalm 55:22 -23

This is a command of the Lord God Almighty.   Do cast, or throw your cares on the Lord.  Give all that you care about to the Lord because He does care about you!!

If you cast, or throw your cares on the Lord God Almighty, He will nurture you through everything that you are to go through. The Lord's promise is that He will NEVER let the righteous fall.   This "fall" means that the righteous person will never be moved out of the Lord's Grace!  The more you throw onto the Lord, the more He will help you!

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.  Psalm 37:23,24

God's Word is True. If you cast your cares on the Lord, He will sustain you and will never let the righteous fall into the pit of destruction. This is a promise that the Lord God Almighty will do two things as long as you do one thing. The one condition is that you must cast your cares upon the Lord.

God made you and loves you.   How can I cast my cares upon a God of Spirit and Control?  ~~Answer

Study of Psalm 55:22

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

Cast in Hebrew means: to throw out, throw down, throw away, to hurl. It does not mean to take back what you have cast, nor to cherish, or keep - but to cast, toss, throw away from yourself.

Cares in Hebrew means: whatever is given by providence, also your lot or burden. That means every piece of your personality and people or things which you are involved with in your life: your talents, thoughts, body, emotions, worries, burdens, joys and gifts. Specifically, Cares or Burdens can be  things that weigh us down, that keep us from God's buoyant Joy. Cares or Burdens can be sin in our life that snares us into trouble, and gives us more troubles.   I cast my cares.

LORD used here in Hebrew means >> Eternal, Jehovah, self-existent. The One with no beginning and no end. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, the Almighty." Rev. 1:8; 21:6; 22:13.

Putting this all together: Throw and hurl everything that has been given to you onto the Lord. Everything that has been given to you, you are to throw onto the Lord and not to take it back.

If you are angry -  I cast my cares.

If you are beautiful, handsome, gifted in the arts, music, intellectual, talented… -  I cast my cares.

If you are feeling worthless, despairing, troubled, hurt, … - I cast my cares.

If you are afraid of letting go, afraid of losing control - I cast my cares.

and He will sustain you. Psalm 55:22

And refers to the first phrase meaning: IF you cast your cares upon the Lord THEN the Lord God WILL sustain you.

He refers to the Lord.

Will is a promise that God will do what He says He will do.

Sustain in Hebrew means: To keep in and contain, To abide, remain with and reside, To receive, comprehend and guide, To feed, nourish, make provision for and provide sustenance for.

You means just who you are, just the way you are.  No changes are needed to come before the Lord God Almighty.  (See My Room

Putting this all together: The Lord Jesus Christ will do all these thing for the one who casts to Him all that they have been, are now, and will be. Every facet of your life must be given away for Him in order for your joy to be full. God Himself will nourish and help you through what you are going through,  no matter what it is! (See Promises of God)  Nothing is too big for God Almighty to handle!    (Read Luke 15: 1-32, prodigal;  Matthew 13:1-30, soil   (See Persecution)

He will never let the righteous fall. Psalm 55:22

The Lord God will never let the ones who are In Him fall into the pit. The one who trusts the Lord with his or her life will never fall way.

Let in Hebrew means: make, cause, render, hand over, deliver.

Righteous in Hebrew means: the just, lawful, right, clear, clean.

Fall in Hebrew means: To waver, slip, shake, fall; To be carried, cast, be out of course, be fallen in decay.

Putting this all together: The Lord God Almighty will never ever cause the just, clean and righteous person to slip and fall or be carried, cast, or be out of course and be fallen in decay. The Lord God will keep His child, that means the one who trust in Him and loves Him and obeys Him in Spirit and in Truth, He will keep that child cared for and nurtured, steadfast in His Love and protection. God promises that through His Son Jesus Christ, He will never let you fall. In order to not fall, you must be Born Again. John 3:2-21 tells Jesus' words on this clearly.  If you do as Jesus invites, you will be a new creation! The Lord God gives all His children eternal life and many blessings! This is the opposite of what the Lord does with those who are NOT righteous.

But you, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption." Psalm 55:23

God will do what He says. God will bring down the wicked (See Sinful life) into the pit of corruption (See Hell).

Wicked in Hebrew means: wrong, bad, condemned, guilty, ungodly. (See Sinful life)

Pit in Hebrew means: well, pit.

Corruption in Hebrew means: destruction, corruption, ditch, grave.  (See Hell)

Putting this all together: This is what is to be for those of us who have not cast all that we are, have been and will be at the foot of the cross for forgiveness, cleansing and a life of righteousness that only comes from obedience in love of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what the Lord God promises to do to those who are not righteous, to do to those who are wicked. God will accomplish all that He says. God will send the wicked to Hell.

Where would you like to be after you die? Where would you like to be on this Earth? Salvation    I want to cast my cares!

… But as for me, I trust in you." Psalm 55:23

Alleluia!!  "Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that He will not hear. ...He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so His own arm worked salvation for Him, and His own righteousness sustained Him."  Isaiah 59:1-2,16        But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."  Joshua 24:15

But refers in contrast to the prior thought of "the wicked".

Trust in Hebrew means in this verse: to hide for refuge, to hope in, to trust in, to be confident and sure of, knowing reliability.

Putting this all together: But unlike the wicked, I will cast my cares upon You Lord, and trust that you will sustain me as I walk in obedience to You!! But as for me, I am not wicked because I do now trust in You, Holy Trinity.  I am cared for by You because I cast all that I am and can be onto You, Lord Jesus Christ. You will not let me go down to the pit of corruption because I lean on You to sustain me!! I trust in Your Word, the Bible, and obey You with a loving heart, depending upon all of Your promises!! I listen to the Holy Spirit and follow You for Your glory alone. You will never let me fall, because you have already caught me in Your Grace through Your gift of Faith to me!! Praise Verse!!

When you cast your fishing line of pain into Christ's Sea, you will draw out a fish of treasures.  Christ exchanged your filthy rags to a robe of righteousness!

The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.  "Again,  the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea, and gathering fish of every kind;  and when it was filled, they drew it up on the beach; and they sat down and gathered the good fish into containers, but the bad they threw away.  "So it will be at  the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Matt 13: 44-50 ABS

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:   "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son...."But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. `Friend,' he asked, `how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.  Then the king told the attendants, `Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'  Matthew 22:1-13

Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes--who are they, and where did they come from?"  I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.  Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.  For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."   Revelation 7:13-17

Bring me to the Holy Spirit in the Believer!      See My Room.

Once you cast your cares on the Lord, you must have something to fill the void of loss of all the troubles you've been focusing on.  Your new focus should only be upon the Lord God, your Deliverer, your Refuge, your Strength, and your Rock. Jesus tells us what happens if you do not,  "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.  Then it says, `I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.  Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation." Matthew 12:43-45

To fill that void, you must be born again and filled with the Holy Spirit.  You should learn about God, reading the Bible daily, praying:  What's  Next.
