Atonement 4

The Atonement of Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ provides many blessings!

We have a personal high priest: The book of Hebrews says Jesus Christ is our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Also, that Christ is able to sympathize with our weaknesses in every way. For depth, read Hebrews 4:14-10:49.

The Blood of Christ provides a Law of proof of our righteousness:

Since the Law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.  Jesus Christ's blood is a verdict of "not guilty".

The evidence is overwhelming in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the Blood of Jesus Christ ( Exod 12; Lev 14), shed blood of the Lamb of God (John 1:29; John 1:36; Rev 5:6; Rev 7:10,17; Rev 22:3), it is proven by evidence (John 14:11) to break the power of sin (Matt 1:21; Rom 5:9; ), death (John 5:24; John 8:51; Acts 2:24; Romans 4:25; Rom 6:9; Heb 2:14; ), hell (Luke 12:5; ),  and breaks power of darkness (John 8:12).  Through the cross (Num 21: 7-9) afflictions (See Christ's Power) are all broken. The power of demonic attack (See Christ's Power), condemnation and temptation are all broken when someone pleads the blood of Jesus on or over someone or something.

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Rom 3:22         Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Rom 10:4

Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him!

The Atoning Blood provides Life:

Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life."

  1. In a physical sense the blood gives life. If a person has a stroke, that means that the blood has been cut off from a certain part of the person's body. If someone has a sickle cell, then blood circulation is cut off and pain is caused. When that happens, part of the body dies. Life of the flesh is in the blood.
  2. In a redemptive sense the blood gives life. The blood makes atonement. Atonement means "to cover up sin". Your soul is naked in its sin unless there is a cover for it. The Lord makes a cover Himself. God first did this for Adam and Eve after they sinned in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:21 "The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them." Then God promised Eve He would provide redemption later. God had His Son Christ in mind.

And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Heb 10:10

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:53,4

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Heb 13: 20,21

The Atoning Blood provides Cleansing of your soul:

"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow." Psalm 51:7 "Create in me a pure heart." Psalm 51:10 Hyssop is a small shrub, like mint, which was dipped into the blood sacrifice described in Leviticus 14:1-7,19-22,49-53. "The priest shall… then to take the live bird and dip it, together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn and the hyssop, into the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water…. In this way he will make atonement … and it will be clean."

Water with blood flowed into a basin with a piece of cedar wood placed in the basin. This was a preview of Jesus' blood and water that flowed from His side when He had died on the cedar cross. " Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water."  John 19:34.

"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."  Isa 1:18

The Atoning Blood provides a new life:

After the priest had taken the hyssop branch and seven times sprinkle the blood onto the leper, he declared by the grace of God that the person was healed and also now had a release to a new life, the life he or she was now to know. The priest would then take out the second bird and release it into the open field as a representation of the release of new life the one who was atoned for would now have. The bird is now free, and so is the person!

Jesus Christ took the judgment of death for all of your sins and my sins upon himself. "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"  Matthew 27:46; Psalm 22: 1.     God could not look upon sin. Christ spoke out of his loneliness for the Father who did not look upon him.  How will we be at your death if your sins are not atoned for by Jesus Christ's death?

Why did Jesus do that for you and me?          ~For the promise yet to come, our being cleansed and atoned, healed and entering into a

Through His provided Atonement: The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.  Ps 103:8-14

The Atoning Blood provides Freedom from continually sinning:

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:7

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 1 John 3:9

Redemption means a release from sin, released to freedom from the slavery of sin!  We who receive Christ's atoning sacrifice for our sins are loosed from the life of sin we knew, the bondage we had is broken by the blood of Christ Jesus!! We are now free to experience fully the life that God intends for us!! See Holy Spirit

1John chapter 3 tells how a child of God is.

The Atoning Blood provides Redemption and Justification:

Justification means that the record of sin was cleared and we are vindicated, free from blame, declared guiltless. Our sins have been absolved by Christ's shed blood upon the cross. Now our relationship with God is as if we had never sinned. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." Jer 31:34

When we are redeemed, made clean through the payment of our sins by Jesus Christ on the cross, we are permanently released from our sin. We are restored to a state of grace by God through His gift of Faith. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- " Eph 2:8         By accepting and receiving Jesus Christ as our own personal Savior from our own personal sins, God regards us as if we have never sinned. God now looks at us with Jesus' blood covering over us and call us saints.        (See definitions.)

As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight. Ps 16:3         Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. Ps 34:9         For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. Rom 15:26  Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas and all the saints with them. Rom 16:15

Only by Jesus Christ's redemptive work on the cross are we justified! God cleans your own personal record of sin if you receive the atonement for your own sins. You become a new creation, the old passes away, you become new. You are righteous only because of the saving power of Jesus Christ's blood thorough His death on the cross. Jesus' blood is capable of rectifying and restoring of all sinners!

In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. Ex 15:13         For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed." Is 52:3         Read also Gal 3: 9-14.

There is Power in the Blood of the Atoning Lamb:

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink for death. Rev 12:11

Just as Jesus Christ's Blood restores and redeems the life of a true believer and follower of Him, so Jesus' Blood has the power to cover situations and remove evil from them. The Power through the Blood of Christ which will stop the advance of evil and can overcome the force of evil that would seek to infiltrate you life and intrude upon your mind, your heart, home, kids… The Blood of Jesus Christ's Atoning Death on the cross should be prayed through difficult times. The family should be covered by Jesus' Blood, to be placed under the Blood of the Lamb of God. You should seek to have Jesus Christ's Blood infiltrate and intrude upon your life, your mind, your heart, your home, your children and grand-children…

The Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ can be applied practically by praying a simple prayer like this:        Father, I ask you to cover my relative/friend (name of the person) with your blood. Cover his head and eyes, his throat and penetrate those places where You are needed most. Fill him with your healing Blood, permeate his senses and spirit. Cover him completely, Lord and fulfill Your will for his life. In accordance to Your desires and will I pray this Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Be redeemed now. The precious blood of Jesus Christ is what redeems us. The blood of Jesus Christ has immeasurable value because it transcends everything. To be without sin is priceless! You cannot measure the buying power from sin, the price and value to liberty, to be freed from the chains of demonic or satanic torment. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can penetrate the realms of this earthly economy. The blood of Jesus Christ is the central economic factor. "you were bought at a price" 1 Corinthians 6:20,7:23.

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him!" Romans 5:8-9 Jesus Christ’s blood is a protective force. In Exodus 12:11-14 God executed judgment. Only the blood of Jesus can protect you from the judgment of God. Our sin requires full payment, death and complete removal from the One Holy God, which is the Atonement. However, the Judge Himself paid the Price for our sin. "You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." 1 Cor 6:19,20

God the Father authorized Jesus Christ, His Son to take the punishment that was due to us. If we understand this, we must make a responsible decision or choice for our own lives and destiny. DO we accept this atonement personally for ourselves, or not? Our answer has consequences and repercussions in our lives right now and later. But whatever no matter what we choose, God has already shown us His incredible Mercy!

Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Ps 32:1

Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name's sake. Ps 79:9
